Automated trading with TradingView

TradingView is the world’s most popular chart tool.

It is popular with both discretionary and system traders.

This is an announcement of our plans to provide an environment for automated trading using this tool.

This plan was launched 15 days ago, in late May in Japan.

I had known about TradingView for quite some time, but had never actually used it after registering.

However, since the beginning of this year, I have received inquiries from several people asking if it is possible to trade automatically using TradingView.

News has come out that Monex Securities’ Monex Trader service will be discontinued.

I thought this would be a good opportunity to look into it, so I began researching.

By the way, when I contacted someone at Monex Trader when it was discontinued, they told me that there were still a fair number of users.

While I was researching TradingView, I found that there were several people I knew who were board members at TradingView Japan.

Since you mentioned that you have users from Monex Securities, I thought it would be meaningful to create an outlet for those who used Monex Trader in the past.

Someone at TradingView told me, “If you can do that, go ahead and do it. We’ll provide any support you need, so please let us know.”

These two reasons combined meant that there was no reason not to do it.

So, how do we achieve this?

Our company already has a tool that receives emails, analyzes the contents contained within, and places orders with securities companies.

It’s called Mail de Order. By the way, “de” is the French “do.” It’s the same as “do” in “fond de veau.”

I don’t know.

Until now, we have supported Masuda Ashi and others, but we will use a method that will also support TradingView alert emails.

I am now in charge of the team that I expanded in 2018, and as such I have many other tasks, such as holding meetings with other companies, planning new business schemes, and also dealing with customers of Autore, our existing service.

The time I can devote to programming is limited.

However, with a little bit of programming I was able to successfully place an order after receiving an email from TradingView yesterday.

I’m really glad I made Mail Order. I had a ton of time back then.

If we had made it from scratch, we would never have been able to make it in such a short time.

As I continue to experiment a bit more, I would like to create an explanatory page which I will then be able to provide to everyone.

By the way, the financial products covered are stocks (spot and margin) and Nikkei 225 futures.

FX and crypto assets are likely to be offered later.

Additionally, we also support alerts using TradingView webhooks instead of email.

The email will arrive 20 to 30 seconds after it is sent.

In this respect, webhooks are much more immediate than email.

This feature is available to paid TradingView users.

About our mission

Recently, I’ve been thinking more about my company and myself than ever before.

After thinking about it over and over, I finally managed to gather my thoughts so I thought I’d write them down.

Don’t expect too much from the content.

It was around the fall of 2004 that I realized that financial trading would become automated in the future.

I think it’s probably one of the earliest in the world.

By the end of 2004, I had finished developing my own program and was enjoying automated trading.

My motivation for starting to invest was to prepare for the state of Japan’s social security system due to my concerns about it.

I realized that I’m not the only one who thinks it would have been better to prepare in case Japan’s social security system were to be cut back.

And there are a lot of them.

Probably most of the country.

So, I decided to turn it into a business to make automated trading known to people all over the world.

That was in 2006.

“I think 10 years in this job will go by quickly, so it’s going to be tough.”

That’s what I told the original members, and they joined us.

19 years have passed.

Along the way, we experienced a number of once-in-a-century economic crises, and our company was buffeted by these rough seas.

But it still exists.

It is also used by customers.

It has been exactly 10 years since I said, “It will take 10 years of hard work,” and I begin to feel like I am finally being recognized.

Then the term FinTech was coined, and things related to financial technology began to become popular.

Many new companies will be formed, some of which will attract significant investment and operate, and then probably undergo consolidation over the next few years.

Maybe they’ll turn their attention to us too.

Well, here it is. The mental organization that led me to write this article.

The product was done. Multiple products.

The customers are there and the company is still in business.

This means that we have achieved 0 to 1 both technically and profitably.

1→100 remains. What should we do next? What is the right way to proceed as a company?

That’s the question I was asking myself.

Do I want to spread this product rapidly and grow my company? From 1 to 100 quickly?

Should we consider bringing in outside capital for this purpose?

Bringing in outside capital will require a different approach than before.

But if it doesn’t spread in the first place, it would be unfortunate for the people to whom I want to deliver this product.

It would be a misfortune for Japan if it doesn’t become more widespread.

But I feel like there’s something wrong with promoting it in a different way than before.

I was pondering these things over and over.

And the conclusion that was drawn was,

Carefully carry out steps 1 to 15

That’s what it was.

As always, we have decided to provide more detailed information about this product to individual investors who need it.

And from 15 to 100, I hope that those who have used it up to 15 will be active as evangelists in realizing a world in which investors all over Japan are using some form of automated trading system.

I also believe that by that time, it would be in Japan’s best interest to leave it to business leaders who are far more experienced than I am.

Why Invest? Why Use Automated Orders?

An investment that is irrelevant to 88% of Japanese people.

Why does he choose to operate a business that likely has such a small number of users?

This is because I am convinced that the time will come when many people who have not yet invested will need it.

Japanese people have the mentality that money is something you earn by sweating your brow, and the majority of people live their lives without any involvement in investing.

Survey results show that only 12% of Japanese people, or 12.61 million people, own stocks.

When it comes to China, things change.

The Shanghai stock market crash in June 2015 caused losses for 90 million people.

In China, there are 190 million people with an annual income of 1 million yen or more, which is considered to be middle class or above.

Isn’t it true that only about half of people are investing?

Just because individuals from other countries are investing does not mean that our country should too.

I have my own reasons for this.

The future of Japan.

The declining birthrate and aging population have been a concern for a long time, and Japan is moving toward an aging society the fastest among developed countries.

When we think about social security for the elderly, such as pensions and medical expenses, the source of funds comes from money received from people who can pay insurance premiums, income tax, and resident taxes.

When I think about how many young people it would take to support me when I need their help, the burden on each young person becomes enormous.

Isn’t it just too cute?

A world in which young people who will raise children and carry the future of Japan on their shoulders must devote most of their energy to caring for the elderly.

It’s a pity.

If even one or two elderly people were to choose not to rely on public care, the burden on young people would be lightened somewhat.

Please stop thinking that you’re missing out if you don’t get it when everyone else is.

If you do that, you might end up in a situation where there’s nothing you can do and it’s all gone.

People who cannot earn money on their own have no choice but to rely on public services, but elderly people who are able to earn money should continue to do so.

And I hope we can create a society where older people who earn money are respected.

That’s what investment is for. Trading is speculation though.

Either is fine with me. It may sound harsh, but I’d like to become an old man who can earn a lot of money.

It is said that only a handful of people can make money through investment or speculation.

If you have a skill and can earn money in some way, that’s the best.

The goal is to become a profitable old man or woman.

Automated ordering is a hassle-free way to save time. It’s a labor-saving way to save time.

Opportunities can come at various times, such as in the morning or while you’re sleeping.

Rather than having to keep an eye on it all the time or having to respond immediately when notified by email, I would rather just use automatic ordering.

The day is fast approaching when lack of time will no longer be a reason not to invest.
